According to many islanders, 'West is best' when travelling to Mauriitus because of the glorius weather and stunning sunsets that can be witnessed on this side of the island. Although the East Coast can be windy at times, travelling outside the June/July period, means that you will be greeted by wonderful sunrises and azure blue waters.
Maldives
The magnificent Maldives is a small island nation in South Asia located in the Indian Ocean. The archipelago consits of 26 coral attolls located north to south. Seychelles
The stunnning Seychelles is an archipelago Island country in the Indian Ocean, North of Mauritius and to the West of the Maldives. It consisits of 115 Islands with its main island, Mahe being home its largest city, Victoria which lies around 1,500 kilometres off the Mainland of Africa. The majority of the Seychelle Islands remain uninhabited and have been reserved for nature reserves. The Islands are home to 2 UNESCO world heritage sites. The first, Aldabra Atoll is located around 1000km of the coast of the main island, Mahe and is a great example of raised coral attoll; Aldabra is one of the laregst atolls in the world. The second, Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve is situated on the granite island of Praslin and consists of a scenic, natural palm forest which remains fairly untouched since prehistoric times. These coco-de-mere palm trees which are native to the Seychelles, are famous for producing the largest nuts/seeds in the plant kingdom.
